Learn more about our newest Designer who brings her background in fashion and editorial design to the Farm.

Everyone, say hi to Mai!

Describe what you do in 5 words.

A bilingual intuitive visual storyteller.

What’s the best part of your work week?

Coming into the office in the morning, setting my day right with a cup of Farmboy's special coffee from Italy and meeting with the team to connect is the best part of the workweek.

What inspires you most about Farmboy?

For majority of my career, I have done catalog editorials for fashion brands as a graphic designer, so changing the scale and dimension from paper to building walls has opened up plethora of opportunities to discover inspirations for creating artistic concepts and take lots of aspects into consideration when designing collection of art pieces. Immersing into the realm of spatial design, I am privileged to learn new skills from many talented mentors.

What are you learning about right now?

Lots. The first is learning how to think on scales using architectural tools and drawings. The second is creating engaging narratives for each piece of artwork that we make. It's fascinating to learn various stories and histories surrounding each region, and I get to research further to really dig deep to find little bits of gems to turn them into visual creations.

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Seafood paella or seafood bouillabaisse.

What’s your most streamed song?

Right at this minute, it's Say What You Will by James Blake.

Where’s your favourite place in the world?

I feel most at peace when I go hiking or trekking in the mountains.

What’s your go-to drink order?

It's black coffee for non-alcoholic drinks and dry white/red wine for grown-up drinks. Simple and easy.

Finish this sentence: “If I wasn’t an Art Director, I’d be…”

"If I wasn't a designer, I'd be a photographer or directing music videos."

And finally, what does our purpose of changing lives with art mean to you?

The purpose of changing lives with art is to pursue happiness. Farmboy is an attractive place where we can explore further and deeper into people's lives to inspire and strive to evoke something new and stimulating. As a designer, it is very appealing to discover different cognitive ways and receive different reactions from people.

Welcome to the team, Mai! We’re so glad you’re here.
